So perhaps SWA mgmt is outlawing BCRF bling in an effort to make sure they are not the same as Delta....

At DL, sales of pink ties for pilots goes to charity, for-sale Pink Lemonade all goes to charity, amongst other efforts. Stop your own fake outrage.

Curing diseases comes about through scientific research. That research is very expensive, and needs funding in order to happen. Private enterprises don't invest in research unless they can with surety ramp it up to sell as a commodity at a solid profit. Awareness campaigns help grease the private donation efforts which fund critical research.

Fewer people die of breast cancer than liver cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, and way, way less than lung cancer. Yet a disproportionate amount of funding goes to breast cancer. The American Cancer Society lists double the number of grants for breast cancer than for any other cancer.
What we need though is more pink ties. Good thinking.

Breast cancer research consumes vastly more money than other (often more lethal) types of cancer.

I would be more than happy to wear the yellow tie for liver, orange for stomach, brown tie for colorectal, black for lung if it raises money for research. Pink raises money, and until you can show me it comes at the expense of the other research, have a seat and pipe down.
Or wear as much pink crap as you want. I don’t care. Just don’t cry about not getting to accessorize in uniform.

You know what comes at the expense of fundraising? Buying pink crap so a portion of the proceeds go to a cause. Just give to the cause. No one is stopping you. Everyone is very aware of breast cancer.

Buying a pink tie, pink lemonade, pink ribbon, where proceeds go for research is being part of the solution.
Bit#hing about buying the pink tie, pink lemonade, or pink ribbon is being part of the problem.

The pink tie proceeds went to the SWAPA relief fund for pilots directly affected by cancer. Buying one was putting money forth directly to help out brothers and sisters on the line going through tough times and ya get to wear a better looking tie than any of the other options we’ve got.
Those of you calling it a uniform don’t seem to have a problem with the adopt a pilot ties, holiday ties, or flag ties.
I’m fine with this so long as next June, the Southwest twitterverse and Facebook page isn’t covered in rainbows.
