I do the same from central CO to Denver. Plus United Express is not very reliable in the winter. If we keep the MTJ service next ski season I might change my mind but for now I would rather have my car waiting for me when I finish.

Eh, not really... you're looking at it all wrong. Unlike a car, a good airplane can be an appreciating investment. Not only that, but you could also have some tax benefits of owning a plane, but that's between you and your tax planner/advisor and what you choose to do with your plane.

You could have bought something as boring as a Cessna 172 at a reasonable price a few years back, today you would have been able to sell it for an eye-watering profit. Same goes with the likes of RV-6/7/8. If you like to tinker, the experimental world is your thing.

... and yes, I can easily afford to live on 85 TFP.

Rumor is MTJ will be year round.
