Until then, yes, to avoid a lock, you basically have to be forced into an ETOPS bid group. That means you have to have the three bid groups on the bottom of your bid list.

If it were me, I would just bid into PHX asap. It's only a matter of time before they have an ETOPS BG there.
Thanks! Yeah, I’ll just concentrate on PHX as my primary since I live here and have no desire to commute. That leads me to the next question… If I can’t hold PHX out of training for some reason, what would be the best order for the easiest commute based on frequency of flights and likely hood of being used as a reserve: LAS, LAX, OAK?

I’m thinking LAS first, shortest distance, could drive in 3.5 hours if I had to; Rarely weather delays.

LAX and OAK… can both have marine layer WX delays and LAX flow…neither is reasonable for driving.

Maybe one is better than others based on amount of flying and getting used more frequently?

Should I consider DEN before those 3 above?

Any insight and advice appreciated.

How about we just leave it in VNAV and let it do it’s thing like it was designed to do?

Oh that’s right…..we’re at SWA now.

This is primarily the reason why I think we’ll never see a different fleet type. Their minds will explode down in Dallas just thinking about it.

if you live in the west valley, LAS is an easy driving commute. La Quinta is very flexible for cancellation last minute if u get assigned a trip while driving in. I started my drive 2:30 prior to RAP, so if they called I was within 2 hour drive to the airport. Hope this helps.

Just flew my first trip with a 100K numbered captain. He got online a few weeks ago.
