Is the ETOPS seat lock base specific or can one transfer to another ETOPS base prior to the 6 month lock being up?

I eventually want to be LAS based. If not awarded it after IOE and I choose and am awarded LAX or OAK for example, will I be able to transfer to LAS prior to 6 months?

Thanks

Not base specific. You just have to transfer to an ETOPS bid group. LAX and OAK are fully ETOPS, LAS is split for now.

Well, first they’ll try to swap them out for more 🤬ing MAXes.

If some place needs some goofy noise abatement profile, then the company can uplink it like it does in Orange County. Otherwise, leave it the F alone.

Oh that’s right…..we’re at SWA now.
Oh, but we do... they just still want us to fingerbang the MCP and the FMC, but with VNAV on now because.... I don't know... Air Force? Don't forget the 150 unnecessary callouts on departure because that's how it was done in the -200.

I've been quietly rebelling against this insanity by telling the captains I'll handfly to 3000' AAE at flaps up speed and then accelerating to 250... no fingerbanging the MCP, no 150 callouts while ATC is trying to talk to us, no heads down in the box trying to figure out L2-L3. Just quiet, fly, accelerate and one button push for autopilot, done. By doing this, I've stayed in the company required noise profile, our heads are outside and our workload is minimal. The next leg, cappy is doing it too and commenting how much simpler this is.

More than one way to skin the cat, and according to a check airman, as long as you brief it that way, you're covered because it's essentially the same method but handflown.

It's because there is one sentence in the FOM about Sw complying with noise abatement and not accelerating till 3000'agl. Take that out and viola problem solved. Instead let's create the most difficult way possible with the most steps so that there is no way to mess it up.

Does SWA use Boeing FCOM or FCTM or some modified version?

Luckily I don’t have that problem of knowing the 737, and I’m all about cooperation and graduation
