With many experts pointing to this being an 18 month event, minimum, how deep would furloughs go? Seems like they would be inevitable based on the current load factors. Plus we were over staffed going into this.

Hopefully there will be voluntary programs first.

Really depends on how many total airplanes they end up parking.

I'm at 88% and saving for the "just in case emergency fund" now. I did read the Union letter this week and feel good about staying on property to at least Sept.

It's sad to admit that is a wise decision. The pandemic is the mother of evils--the combination of 9/11 and a financial crisis added together (twice)

How long is your emergency fund good for? We are at 6 months expenses, but thankfully my wife works in a non-airline field and can shoulder most of the expenses even if I am unemployed.

We were doing the Dave Ramsey plan and ironically got debt free 2 weeks before the corona virus hit. Now we have 3 months of Emergency Fund and hoping to add as much as we can between now and Sept. (assuming SW takes the bail out funds and delays any possible furlough).

If this goes into the next year my guess is 1500 F/Os furloughed and 750 downgrades.

Is that all? We hired like 2500 since Jan of 2016 right?

I think that's way low. I'm thinking at least double that. We were already overstaffed by about 700 for the Max. 1500 FOs would only be parking about 100 airplanes.
