OK, so if it comes to 1500 getting furloughed, if my seniority, which is very solid in the green unless we cut the airline by 75%, keeps me flying, I'll be recalled and someone who chose to stay and keep the wheels turning in my absence (by the way I really appreciate you guys and gals) will be furloughed? I'd have to cut off my Jesus Beard and put someone else out of work?

I'll tell you what, start up a fund to pay for my insurance for the next 11 years when I can get on Tri-Care, and I won't come back, and keep enjoying my sunset flights in the supercub in my boots and underwear. Deal?

I believe 1500 is for September , which is a quiet month (someone tell me I’m wrong I wasn’t in on the townhall), If it’s for next summer I’d be more concerned. I think there’s a national pressure being exerted to get more government aid (UA furloughing 12000 FAs was in the news yesterday).

I give management a thumbs up on their efforts to lower burn and I believe GK when he says there are a lot of steps between now and furlough. As someone in the furlough zone I don’t want to take concessions, especially long term ones. Hoping we all escape this nightmare in one piece.

The 1500 is for September flight cuts. Also I don't think any concessions would've made a dent in the Q2 loss. I'm also well into the furlough zone. Furloughs would've been the only significant answer and even that probably wouldn't have been enough without significantly hampering our operation.

I don't know where you folks were working on 9/11, but believe me, you would be amazed by how big of a furlough can take place without significantly hampering the operation.

Hub and spoke maybe. Point to point is much tougher.

has there been any talk about the 45 VPs taking a pay cut? Or any concessions from HQ people?
Then why are we cconstantly ready to give up the farm?

Why? I don’t get it. Let’s say we cut block hours by X. Can we not also cut pilot staffing by X or a value close to X? What am I missing here?

Did I say I was ready "to give up the farm"?

I think it's tougher to cut block hours from point to point.

I dont think individually anyone is really ready to give up the farm but collectively as an industry all I hear is how pilots can take what is effectively a pay cut to save the company. I never hear anything about how executives are facing pay cuts or non front line employees.
Maybe I'm not in the right circles but I havent read a single article about how any of the behind the scenes people are getting the axe.
