It's all just rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.

As for SNA vs LGB, its night and day as far as yields and profit go. LGB is a dumpster fire of very low fares. WN giving up on EWR and going all in on LGB is perplexing. So many other now vacant routes and gates to back fill in, and they rush into LGB? good luck.
As stated elsewhere, I think JB and WN have very different expectations for LGB. JB seemed to hope for LGB to be a major component of their eventual west coast presence, whereas WN already owns the intra-CA market, and LGB is just a nice addition to that already established network.

Well if you were wondering why JetBlue left LGB for LAX, it hasn’t even been a few weeks since the dust settles and B6 rolls out multiple international routes and MINT routes from LAX.

City of LGB was too tough to deal with for B6’s model of TransCons (CurFew issues) and no customs facility. LGB will work much better for WN’s SoCal network, and West Coast point to point flying.
