I believe the mechanics must exercise the seat every so often as part of their checks. They usually leave it at the stops for those Vern/Jabbar figures.

I think it’s something I was taught on IOE. Rudder pedals full forward, seat back and down before you hand the aircraft off. Never really questioned it. I could see putting the seat forward so the next guy had an easier time seeing the circuit breakers. Overall, I could care less where it is when I get in. Only takes a few seconds to adjust to where it’s comfortable.

Fly it like a 200. It use to be in the FOM to put the foot pedals all the way forward. I don’t do it, don’t shoot the messenger.

My absolute favorite of all time are the ones that put the seat all the way up, and then all the way forward so they may retrieve their kit bag from behind the pilot seat.

Brilliant!

Aerodynamics much? Clearly this is the biggest “jet” you’ve flown. I guess that big vertical fin and rudder on the 737 is there to look pretty.

Wrong Airline. Go over to the Spirit page for that debate.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Compared to Airbus, (save for the 350) Boeing’s aircraft have always been far better looking for what its worth. Doesn’t pay the bills.
