I think a lot of you guys are taking this way too seriously. I am guessing you are the ones with "captain" painted on your mailbox and wearing one of those face masks with four stripes on it.
It's actually pretty funny, and the memes are amazing. I have heard about 50 different versions of that rant from about 300 different captains. It's a prerequisite to get hired at Southwest that you have to hate on California every time you go there and then say something conciliatory about how the weather is nice. Our California based pilots even have to do it in the sim in Dallas every year with a check airman witnessing and signing them off.
This dude had a reasonable expectation that his conversation would remain within the cockpit. I am sure all of you "professionals" have never said anything dumb or inappropriate on the ICS. Maybe this dude was trying to be funny, I don't know, it's a weird rant. Besides, Hyundais do kinda suck.
