But again, I would never be in favor of going back to PBS.

Depending on your work rules vacation could even be better under PBS than our current system. If you could bid a four day, 30 off, then a four day all during your vacation week and have vacation drop calculated AFTER the bid, your vacation would pay more. Then you could bid weekday trips the rest of the month and not need to spend you vacation months hawking CWA in a desperate attempt to make some kind of trade to get of Friday-Sunday AMs for the weeks you work.

However, trying to explain the nuances of PBS on the line is as fruitless as ****ing into the wind. When I start to hear "My neighbor at United said PBS work work work work..." - I just smile, nod, and turn of my mic.

That's easy.

Getting rid of ONE weekend trip is easy. Any more than that could be tricky without a hospital admission. [emoji855]

You’re just not doing it right.

You guys must be in Colorado to think we will get remotely close to other contracts. This pilot group flinches at Mr Kelly so fast it’s pathetic. Remember 38% of our esteemed colleagues had such low regard for the profession. They would have taken TA1. Heck I’ve flown with a 1221 that was happy to help if he needed to be furloughed. Almost giddy about it. SWAPULL isn’t doing any favors squashing the forum either. Remember who took part in the SLI negotiations? I have little faith in today’s SWApA.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Trying to explain the vacation benefits that come from PBS (because that’s the only argument I ever hear against it although there are plenty more) is incredibly frustration.

I was willing to be furloughed, not to help the company but to let them know we wouldn’t cave into their demands, Eve if it meant driving a truck. I think that’s the POV of most of us.

Welcome to Special Unit 1221. Your Commander was applying to a factory job putting together power tools. And signed up for Door Dash.

In our system vacation was on your board prior to bidding and PBS didn’t allow bidding conflicts. You had to bid to a credit threshold so you bid the trips furthest away from vacation that got you to the threshold.

What people don’t understand here is you don’t bid “lines”, but bid individual trips to custom build your own line. That’s hard for them to visualize.

That said, even though we had the best PBS in the industry, I would not give up what we have here. I would just like to see some changes in initial line improvement and open-time/give-away.
