In the West, Southwest is an airline for business people. Including the BUR-LAS flights. |
BUR-LAS Friday night is usually an interesting passenger load.

Just before covid AW told our class that once CA was regained and HI was secure, we would replicate what we did in CA in the NE.
The problem now is staffing. All they have to do is approve the TA as written and problem solved. PS. I now also want the part DAL has that says if they’re JAd beyond the footprint of their trip and they can’t get home, the company has to provide a hotel and PS home the next day. |

Historically WN has never been the destination of choice when times were good and everyone was hiring. Only in the aftermath of furloughs and bankruptcies did this place become attractive for some period of time. But that attraction faded in time and the lure of widebody airplanes, far international flying, quick upgrades, and modern airplanes with joysticks and tray tables prove far more enticing to job seekers. I find it extremely unlikely that there is a contract lucrative enough and with quality of life improvements so significant that it will entice job seekers to choose this airline over the legacies at this moment in time. The next time the economy falters, bankruptcies result in stagnation and concessionary contracts, and airlines furlough for a half decade, things might change again for a few years. But I just can’t envision a CBA that can compete in a young pilot’s eyes with a Dreamliner and a quick upgrade. |

GK is steering the ship, with BJ as his puppet. I have deep concerns where this place will be in 5 years . Keeping the company head above water should be more of a concern, that taking over the East Coast . This place has already proven they can blow a billion dollars in less than a week 12B can get burned up quickly, with the talent we have running this place . My wishful thinking is BJ will be sent to spend more time with his family . AW is placed as CEO, given full control of running this place . Like I said, wishful. |

And no one thinks, for some reason, that Southwest could fail and go out of business.... How many bad CEO's and incompetent managers does it take to tank an airline?
