it might happen. Rumor is when they built the new terminal they put in crew lounges underneath.
I still think STL is better. Longer runways for the 787s. Although Singapore would be interesting when it comes to reroutes..."Hi Proximity, we've had to make a change here, we need to to deadhead you SIN-BNA-RSW to operating one to BWI. Your report is 13:30 Herb". |
Soon every airport in the country will be a base. Keep holding out

I hope never because BNA is one of my favorite overnights. I hope it's STL or MCI.

we wont do it. re: MCI. i'm from there. i hope we never open a base there. MCI has a bad rep for airlines. every major airline that ever had a base there has gone away. |
All of your bases are belong to us.
that being said, BNA has been the unicorn of airlines for decades. I wouldn’t hold my breath. I would guess FLL mini domicile before BNA but I’m just spitballing here. |

British Airways serves BNA with 787's. It's plenty long for them, and it's AA codeshare as well.
I don't think anyone sane here thinks we're gonna get 787's. After all, aren't we changing focus from being the most profitable airline and going all in on diversity hiring and environment? |

After all, aren't we changing focus from being the most profitable airline and going all in on diversity hiring and environment? 787 will mean that we can carry 4 pilots and 8 FAs, so we will be able to better represent a wider variety of races and cultures when it comes to the crew. It also highly increases the chances of having an FA onboard who will make a demeaning PA about mask usage. We will also save the environment by running 1x daily with a 400 seat 787-9 between city pairs rater than 4-5x daily with the 737. In the summer we won't start the APU until 3 mins before push, ensuring the cabin remains hot for the entire flight. No ovens, power sockets, or service carts will mean we will burn 0.00034% less fuel. SWAPA will sign an MOU to allow the aircraft on property because the company will promise that they will take care of us in the next contract. We all know we'd do this job for free anyways. We are just waiting now to see if Boeing can disable autoland, allow us to fly VNAV approaches in VS, and modify the fire protection to make sure the aircraft will explode if left unattended with APU running. |
You don’t need that long of a runway for a 787. Just ask westjet and Hawaii with a A330 out of Maui.
