Honestly Andrew should have just taken over for GK but that might have been to much for them to handle with big changes that would come so Bob is the bridge to Andrew. Wonder has to wonder how long he will bridge as CEO?

And sending VDV out to pasture hardly seems like a losing move.
Having said that, the positives I’ve heard about AW seem to mostly be in relation to him dangling the idea of wide bodies, international flying, desirable domiciles, and cool new routes in front of pilots. We all know those sorts of things are like pilot catnip. They kinda make pilots want to hump his leg.
And then I remember we’re in Section 6, just started mediation, and BJ supposedly wants the contract wrapped up in a matter of weeks.
Could this move, at least in part, be a way of sort of implying shiny, and BIG!, new jets just might be coming around the corner? Could it be a way of getting our pilot group primed to vote yes when TA1 comes?
I don’t know but I definitely wouldn’t put it past them.
Let’s keep our defenses up. These guys have 51 years of experience playing the psychological game. They’re really good at it. Don’t underestimate them.

I’ve never personally met the guy or heard from him directly, but people seem to say positive things about him.

Agreed. This likely has nothing to do with negotiations, just like Ryan Green's promotion (the guy responsible for upgraded wifi and power outlets). While I agree we need to keep out guard up, material changes like this are way above the fray of labor relations.

They know his history of doing that and they know pilots love that about him. So, if he’s more competent than VDV (hard not to be) and he comes with the added bonus of getting the pilots all hot and bothered, it could be viewed as a win-win for the GO.
Stay frosty.
