All of the above, in addition it's not super close to the training center, transportation is provided and runs on a suitable schedule more or less, but as you approach the sim portion of your stay get a rental car if neither you nor your partner have your own. You'll be tired of wasting time on the shuttle

Over the course of the year, I have gotten enough points for a couple of free nights and about half the stays I needed to get Bonvoy gold (other half from commuter hotels).
Santa Barbara will literally laugh at you for asking. The SNA Marriott is good to go and will re-cut your room key for the free breakfast.

Hey now, you’ve got guys in here talking about cooking spaghetti over a candle. You think they’ll spring for a rental car?

Also love the idea of getting cookware then donating to goodwill for the tax cred, jeeeeezz… I hope people realize they are getting a job that pays real money and they can afford the ‘spoils’ now.

Nothing like getting Bonvoyed. While I understand the lack of points it still bothers me. You're literally a ghost in the hotel.

You’ve got guys in here talking about cooking spaghetti over a candle (slight embellishment but not far off), you think they’ll spring for a rental car?

Also saw someone post about buying cookware to later give to goodwill for the tax cred, jeeeezz… You work for a company that pays money not monopoly bucks, I’m sure everyone will be fine for food in metropolitan Dallas.

Most "add on" or hotels with unscheduled rooms will do it also. I had the ATL Airport Renaissance give me full credit, stay points, and my bonus points for an offer I signed up for.

Some purchased microwaves/appliances were removed from the Anatole rooms as they were considered a fire hazard. At least that was the explanation given, ymmv.

I was able to keep my microwave till the end, but also tipped my housekeepers, maybe that helped?

Three or four restaurant options in the hotel, which, being that we are not recieving per-diem during training, isn't exactly cost effective. Hoping someone can give me some pointers and suggestions on some options for cost-effective food options during training. Unfortunately a PBJ and a bag of Lays will only suffice for lunch, but for dinner I need something somewhat filling (training for a Denali summit causes one to eat a lot)...and knowing how new-hire training goes, I don't foresee myself having the time or energy to hunt down food every night. I've been in airline training (regional) but had the luxury of a kitchenette in my room..

Thanks in advance! Beyond excited to be here.
me and my sim partner split a car rental. $350 each and free parking at the hotel. Having a rental made all the difference in the world
