whole-heartedly disagree. Probies are coming more from the regionals versus the high number of ex mil guys. All the new regional guys have lived for the last few years under 💩 contracts. It’s the mil / corporate guys you need to educate.

I agree—many of our newer pilots have done their time in civilian airlines. That being said, the total times are coming way down. It’s up to the group to educate. Also to be said—I’ve recently flown with left seaters that literally think we should forego contract negotiations until economics get better. It’s not always the new guys that are behind the airplane.

As a recently former regional guy, I explain to the CA that I would have easily made $150k+ MORE last year if I'd stayed at my regional compared to year 1 at SWA. Even more if I'd gone the LCA route. Most guys have no idea that regional captains can clear that much. I just try to give them some industry perspective.

Time has passed these people by. I have a feeling I’ll be putting in my 2 hour notice shortly after we vote in the looming turd. Sucks because I could hold the left seat starting last summer but I will not spend the rest of my working days toiling for a pyramid scheme led by entitled idiots.

Well… this kind of bashing of your own pilots is going to help the cause. Maybe try educating them instead.
I’m a probie, and I didn’t drink even a drop. Granted, 7 companies in 22 years can have that affect, but there were quite a few in my new hire that were on 2nd or 3rd airline and weren’t drinking it either. Now, the fresh mil and corp types were a little thirsty, but I’ve already seen some come around. I’m inside of my last 20 years of this and I starting to think the younger generation’s entitlement and lack of the last 20 years of F’d up airlines and unions is good, cause a lot of them think we deserve much more than we are getting. |

Seems like every SWA CA who posts on APC is flying 200 TFP/month, pulling $50K month in and month out. Simple to do: just drop your entire line every month and pick up 20 days of premium with the help of your buddies in the cartel getting you down under the cap. Easy peezy.
Reminds me of the wack job that we have that is retiring soon . He used to bring his paystub‘s to work to show the flight attendants, he tried blackmailing one of our own pilots because he did not get a trip he bid on . His claim to Fame in his own mind, he tells all the FAs he is the highest paid pilot at SWA. |
