I rarely write anything down and when I do it's usually just the letter. Guys will fill every block out on that thing. I've had some tell me its required .

My favorite was when I was flying with a known Avoidance guy and I didn't fill out the Zulu time... so he grabs it... writes it in and stares at me like I forgot to put the gear down on landing.

Why can't some peeps just retire.

This is why we still use PVC and bungee.

Well I write it down because I can’t remember the damn code when I make initial contact with Approach and its really not that much work anyway. Besides, with our cutting edge wifi, I ain’t waiting 5 minutes every time I try to bring it up on the iPad.

A PHX based captain who sells old airplane parts on the side made a TikTok about how it’s against SOPs to not write down the ATIS on paper. That’s why we can not use the iPad, because of morons like him. Don’t get me started in his belief in Sharpies….

Ugh. I hope, sometime before I retire, this airline can get through a day without turning a small forest into useless paperwork that nobody is going to read. The amount of resources -- both physical and human -- that we dedicate to these holdouts is absolutely staggering. (Naturally, these are the same guys that flip off the APU the minute they see someone think about hooking the air up. Gotta save that money... for the army of laser printers that keeps this operation together.)

And here I didn’t know you could use all those words in the same sentence.
I don’t GAF what anyone does. Write it, don’t write it, just let me know. I personally like to have the identifier and altimeter and runway in letters big enough to see without picking up a scrap of curly paper and squinting at it. I can make that happen, I just want to make sure we are all on the same page.
People that get upset about tiny cockpit management issues like this one generally have some sort of undiagnosed disorder that would probably benefit from medication.

There is nothing wrong with 2wire , sometimes the weather interferes with it. We are right where we want to be.

I am trying to not come across as negative, how am I doing ?

LOL, no, not at all. I'm talking about on the ground at the gate (using cellular). In the air, eh, 50/50 at best if I can get anything useful out of it.
