Except the “Whack” in “Whackmaster” doesn’t refer to anything sexual. Anyway….
Yeah, I thought it was common knowledge that the cargo building is getting torn down and our D gate terminal is getting expended that way by five gates.
Indeed the ramp is horrible. That’s going to have to get fixed.

if they ever want single engine taxi there they need to do something about the hill you have to climb to get off the ramp and/or swap out the 700 tires for the 800/Max tires that for some reason roll better.

I remember when Tampa was going to be a 717 base. I also remember when Carl said Costa Rica could be a base, and we would spring board to South America. All you guys have to do is vote yes on every side letter and subpar contract and your base dreams will come true.

Seriously, I REALLY don’t want to bring up the past airline but the fuel conservation program and mentality amongst line pilots and management at SWA is pathetic.

Phoenangeles. I grew up at a different pace, seasons, fishing everywhere…that kind of stuff. Been in AZ quite a while and it was bearable for a while, but now we’re just another big, angry Megacity. I want to go back to somewhere small, quiet, and country again. But even northern AZ doesn’t have the type of life the Appalachians have. Kind of have to have been from there to get it. So its back to the South for me, even if its a 2-3 hour drive.

When we are back in peacetime again they should really emphasize SET and put it in terms pilots can understand - profit sharing.

I have to agree. At the other places I worked it was common practice for virtually every departure. I generally don't mind doing it on the -800 and the Max here, but something is different about the tires on the -700. Takes way too much thrust to get that thing rolling and keep it rolling. Mechanic told me why but I can't remember what he said.

Here’s a great example……if you’re going to SET for takeoff, start the engine when the tug stops its pushback. The timing works out perfect on an NG to where you get rollback right around the time they’re showing you the pin.
Instead we have FOs that are spring-loaded to start the engine as soon as the airplane starts moving on pushback and then sometimes we’re sitting there p!ss!ing away fuel for a minute or two while they finish the push and disconnect.

Careful agreeing with me. It’s not very becoming 😉

Usually the captains are in a rush and want to get going quick and give you the huffing stink eye if your still starting engines after they ground crew is waddling off
