Ahh, guess i stopped reading at your post then moved on to dinner plans! Hope it works out for him.

I just got back from upgrade training and am not interested in any more extended training curriculums!

I also kinda wanted to get a second opinion on this one from other SWA pilots. I currently have been at SWA for a year now. I’ve had a Delta CJO since NOV. I can’t start yet due to being on military leave. I’m watching things play out. Right now I’m leaning strongly towards Delta. I live in IND, Air Force Reserve gig is in Florida, currently based in MCO with SWA. I have over 35yrs left. If I go to Delta I’m planning on ATL since It’s in between both IND and Florida. Either way it seems like I may have to commute to something until I get a place in Florida, but still I need to be in IND for my family. So at this point just debating quality of life choices.

Anyone care to weigh in on this?

Depends on what you wanna do. Nobody has a IND base. DL doesn’t have a FL base. Commute for 35+ yrs? I wouldn’t do it but I despise commuting. I’d move to a base but you want to be in IND. Do what’s best for your family….other people’s opinions don’t really matter.

If you aren't able to move from IND/FL, I'd consider staying at WN. Southwest would probably my first choice if I was committed MCO unless you're willing to go to South FL with AA. This seems like selling low on WN and I imagine they'll start getting things back in order soon enough.

You could also hold out for Fedex IND, but that is more of a gamble nowadays than ever before.

They have a sort hub there. Wasn’t sure if it’s a pilot base and they’re not hiring til next May as of now.

Exactly! I’d gladly fly for purple rather than our regional. Buddy of mine has flown less than 300 block in two years, while I do that in less than four months. 1250 in the last two years to be exact.
