BNA Ramp Control

Yeah, not a thing. That isn't a call anymore since everybody goes to spot 4 and it's literally impossible to taxi fast on that ramp due to congestion and two huge right angle turns. Also, our FOQA guys have started calling out egregious taxi speeds, even on long downhill straightaways like LAS taxiway C and the DEN 17R taxi back where there is literally nobody and nothing around.
good to hear it.

You just made no sense, but alright.
Most SWA stations don't have ramp control. My point was that when you have multiple gates pushing for the same spot and there is no queue along with inbound planes vying for some of those gates and waiting for them to push holding out and further clogging the works, it can turn into a fu[%ing mess in a hurry. Having someone there to play referee will definitely help the situation. In addition, they are adding a whole new concourse with buses going back and forth. What can possibly go wrong, right?
I don't rush anything and I honestly haven't flown with many people here who do, and really none in the last 5 or so years. That being said, I don't want to sit on a gate for 20 minutes while the mess gets sorted out on its own (not a figure I pulled out of my butt, I very recently had this scenario twice in one week). While I don't really care about the company's metrics, when my goals and their goals align, I am going to try to achieve them. I would personally rather spend another night at home instead of an extra 15 minutes waiting to push. Not sure how not wanting to sit at a gate with the jetbridge pulled back is rushing, but the APC way seems to be to jump all over anyone who isn't part of some made up amateur hour job action that nobody else seems to know about, so I guess maybe I am rushing? I don't know. You decide.

Why would you not move if you didn't trust the distance? Still trying to recover from your other nonsense post by making another one? Weird strategy.

I didn't say "not deviate from the line". I said not "move"! Yes there are tiller drivers here who will stay stationary. Just had one and it's rather frustrating. Don't be him

If we aren't sure and there's no room to deviate from the line, sorry but the parking brake will be set. If we trade paint I don't want to be the one rolling when it happens. You'll thank me when we aren't in Dallas doing a dance in front of investigators.

So you believe some airport field maintenance dude randomly paints taxi lines/spots on the concrete without regard for safety?

I’m more concerned about the 8th Striper cutting the corner at 60 kts on a ninety degree turnoff in an -800 and dragging the mains through the mud because he thinks he’s driving a Miata. Gotta stay under the CAP.
