Quick clarification on how it went down: we were taking over the plane from the CP and after saying hi to me and my CA, he looked both of us up and down and he asked me if I was wearing Lulus. I honestly didn't understand what he was asking and he pointed to my pants. I told him they were whatever model of wool pants that M&H sells and he said "Good. I'm tired of seeing FOs wearing Lulus, they are unprofessional." He smiled, patted me on the side of the arm and chuckled kind of awkwardly. I smiled and said have a nice day and then I got on about my business. I don't really get too fired up about weird crap like that, but my CA had more than a few choice sentences about the CP during our next leg, which was funny. I was only wearing the blazer becasue I didn't order a Karbon until after training and I've now been waiting about 6 weeks for the name tag to arrive.

Never ever thought I'd see the uniform police at Southwest, but my CA reassured me that it is super rare to come across someone like that.

Uniform Standards states that uniform pants and shirts may be purchased from other providers. Also, ski or bomber jackets are optional items.

It also states that standards check airmen have uniform authority—so if it isn’t a standards check airman, they are being….non-standard.

I wear Haggar Premium pants.

They want professional looks but provide a **** product. Go figure.
Exactly. If they want me to wear this stuff for 12-15 hrs on some days, then I’m wearing what I like and is comfortable.
