The schedule is even more flexible now that everyone wants to sit on reserve. It may not be as flexible during the busy months but by October, people will pick up your shifts and you can try to pick up something in ATL. If you had to commute to BWI, doesn’t sound that bad compared to OAK. I was in the last class for a looong time when I got hired (been at SWA for 10+ yrs), and it won’t be as long for you.

watterson said that they are looking at red eyes and it might be quicker than we think. We are airframe constrained and they need to squeeze every min they can out of them.
An example he gave was BWI-LAX-BWI
Leave BWI at 2100 and get back at 0500. Otherwise the jet would be sitting there overnight anyways. He said obviously mx schedule would determine which ones flew.
also said about 50 to start

He could schedule something similar to that for the airplane, but it wouldn't be legal for the pilots. In any case, that example would be closer to 11 hours total airframe time after taking into account the turn times.

Hard to believe the ‘Tran did ATL-PHX-ATL redeye turns back in the day. Left ATL at 2200L FML

We bought tickets to vacation in June and got emails this week that our flights changed and we were rebooked.

A 10:30 am flight turned into a 7:30 am flight….called and changed it to a 12:30 pm flight….I’m not getting up that early on vacation.

On our return a 11:45 am flight changed to 8:45 am. So there’s a 7:30 am and a 8:45 am flight leaving SEA to DEN on a Friday an the next nonstop isn’t until 3:30 pm now. 🤦🏼‍♂️

So things are changing for June at least. Can’t wait to see what the lines look like….

One thing is for certain, there won't be enough turn lines in LAX. All we need is 2-3 AM and 2-3 PM turn lines and everyone gets what they want. Plus some 4-day commutable lines to throw the commuters a little luv. But... nope. Bid what you want, fly what you can, sick out when you can't make it to work. SAIEW.

How about connecting the west coast so pax can actually book trips to international destinations? Pretty pathetic that we don't do this already.

I had the same thing on Delta in July. Although they didn’t email me they just changed it without notifying me. I only saw it because I was going to change our seats. I called and the first customer service rep sounded like they were in India and no help. I asked to talk to a sup and got a nice lady in SLC. She made the changes to flights that worked better for us.

No issues at all changing flights around. The SWA people knocked it out quickly so no complaints there.
