I 2nd this. Baybrook just north, Also, it's a 25ish minute drive to Galveston if you are into that kind of thing. The states largest clear water pool is just around the corner also. A 12 acre swimming pool. It is massive.

I lived in Pearland in the Shadow Creek Ranch community for a number of years. It was a nice area with new homes and easy access to 288, Hobby, and the coast. I liked Houston better than Dallas because it was more ethnically diverse, closer to the Gulf (of Mexico), and seemed more easy going.

I also did my initial at that FSI with my first airline. I didn't notice a weird smell, but I was initially put off by the lack of zoning laws and the widespread use of access roads paralleling the interstates.

Friendswood is a great place to settle in. Close to the airport and you don’t need to use the freeway if you don’t want to.
Many neighborhoods don’t flood. It’s safe, clean, and a 30 (maybe 45 now?) minute drive to downtown in one direction, and 30 minutes to the beach in the other. Spent 24 years there. Feel free to PM any questions.
