From what I’ve noticed they also moved PM rsv to start an hour earlier because of all the PBR trips they have. Not sure how that’ll work with redeyes. I can’t swap my sleep schedule with 12 hrs heads up.

I saw that. It's going to end up screwing them in the end because as we go into peak flying season, the days get ridiculously late and you can't use PM reserves on their first day past their rap finish.

So, choose your poison, I guess. The PM trips that start at 10am are way too long in TAFB, which is why they end up in open time. This band aid fix will prevent those from going PBR, but now the trips that block in late or are subject to delays will end up paying premium too.

They can't cover red eyes with no red eye reserve. It will end up going into open time. If I got a call on normal AM or PM reserve that I was covering a red eye, I would just reply that I am fatigued. You can't prepare for that crap without knowing it's coming.

Gotta admit, I am still thankful to be working here, but the shine is starting to wear off as I see some of the decisions being made along with the obvious problems that Dallas is tone deaf to.

I am thankful also, but the shine is wearing off for me too. I am grateful not to have been displaced. It could have happened to me and it still could. A quick count came to 122 displacements this month. That is a lot of pain, in a lot of Southwest pilot homes.

Sadly, I noticed three DEN Captains downgraded rather than commute. Kudo’s to them for putting quality of life over money.

We have another round of sadness coming next month. Hopefully, things will turn around soon, but I don’t see any beacons of light in the tunnel.

I saw those 3 CAs on the list too. Good on them! All told, looking at the math, between secondary and third+ displacements, I predict close to around 500 FOs will be displaced by the end of summer. It's pretty ridiculous when you really think about it.

there will be more who downgrade. I know of two more in den that will rather than be displaced.
I'm on the chopping block and the only reason I'm am staying in the left seat is I have enough vacation to get me through summer. If it ain't over, which indoubt it will be, I'll downgrade and enjoy another good vacation bid and all the winter holidays off.
This is the stupidest thing I've seen. Upsetting a lot of people

I’m also on the chopping block…as of now I’ve enough below me to be safe if 65 in DEN is the number but you never know.

I’d be one of the first with ROR so I’ll commute to a line in LAS or LAX before downgrading and try to giveaway as much as I can to pick up DEN stuff. I got plenty of sick time to burn too and it’s worth a lot more in the left seat. 🫣

its my understanding that unless ETOPS bid group is the last in your standing bid then you'll be locked in there. So would ywoutisk a commute to bwi or list lax higher but get stuck etc?

CBA says involuntary displaced pilots will not be subject to a vacancy lock. I believe what you’re thinking of is the new hire vacancy.
