The vacancy with the base reductions.at DEN & ATL that was posted today is going to really complicate the decisions for a lot of us. Without the additional openings in MDW and HOU that were referenced, there are going to be a bunch of unnecessary displacements, with folks getting bounced for a month or they may get to their preference next month. This will be particularly true for the Denver folks.
Also, as of 2:00 today, the vacancy projection has not been published.
i am not normally one to complain and I know there are a thousands of balls in the air in Dallas today. However, this has been coming for months with plenty of time to prepare. It just seems to be kind of a sloppy job by one of the departments that normally is relatively well managed.

The lack of vacancies in Houston was concerning, but I think those will appear in the next vacancy to add pilots for HOU redeye flying. This whole thing is poorly managed. There are going to be a lot of pilots (including probably me) who are going to be spat out the bottom in a secondary or tertiary displacement.
Just pay the money to DH those needed. It's all absorbed in the rigs anyways

I’m a junior FO commuting across the country. I have my apps in everywhere tbh. This is not sustainable for my family.

yes but they didnt say for how long? If it's a yr or more we'll have to hire for attrition. Nobody is going to put up with that with the other big three hrining

You won’t be the only one. My guess is several of the young DEN FO’s will be applying for United and the young ATL FO’s will def be applying for Delta. I have a few guys from my class (late 23) considering it. One already left for United. Can’t say I blame them. I live a few hours from HOU and I’m not far from the bottom in HOU. I’m not sure if I’ll get displaced or not. I’ll probably suck it up if I do because I don’t feel like starting over in my 40’s. If Boeing gets their **** together and gets us some MAX 7’s I believe we will definitely start to hire. My hopes anyways.
