If you are referencing VOD, we DON'T have language. We have past practice. They wanted clear language that aligned with the practice.

But we have no idea if that was the stumbling block for it's passage. Just that's what some alarmist posted was the reason that turns out to be false.

I have no idea why it was rejected. But I did send an email to my reps asking why they voted the way they did.

Hopefully, there will be comms on this out soon.

Someone replied on idiot book. They said it was because the new language wasn’t clear. I guess they had similar concerns as the alarmist. There is also conflicting reports as to who briefed them on it. But who the heck knows after all it’s swapull land. Were a no vote is very unusual.

Sounds like they were doing their job. If the languages ain’t right, fix it so it meets the intent.

A couple of reps have finally come out on the swapull forum. They re insightful as to why they voted no on it. Another question is why are we even entertaining this with the disability sick leave policy that has been implemented? Despite past precedent. They also had a concession or two in this SL.

Agree with all of this. Specifically on concessions, the LI travel day was extended on the back end, which doesn't affect most of us but is definitely a concession. Why entertain any concessions at all? Definitely a fail by the NC along with the comm on the whole thing. Tighten up the language and try again....or don't. I am good either way. A lot of the changes look like busy work that could be captured in notes for future negotiating sessions.

Also not a big fan of their defensive tone on the whole thing. Almost sounds like they don't want people flying the line to question them. Probably not a great way to approach things by full time, highly paid employees on trip pull that we are funding

I agree. If people heard the conversation I heard at a road show. They would know how those insiders truly feel about line swine that questions them. They had so much disdain for their fellow pilots that questioned them. It was disgusting!
