I live in BNA. My “no desire to go to a legacy” should’ve been prefaced by “I’m not moving, and am tired of two decades of commuting…”
I don’t want to wear a hat, either 🙃

Things change over 30 yrs. Bases can close, types are added/reduced, etc.
I passed on a UAL interview in ‘15 because I was already in class here. At the time Smisek was shrinking DEN (removing 757/767 base) where it was the most Sr in the company. I was a few mos from holding it as a WN FO and with the hiring we were doing I was in blanks within 6 mos. Upgrade time to 737/320 at UAL in DEN was the same as us. Pay was generally the same so I passed on the interview. I would’ve gotten a WARN notice at UAL during Covid and spent a good amount of time sitting at home on guarantee vs paying off all my debt at SWA
Cut to ‘21. Kirby’s in charge and they’re hiring 3k a year with street captains in DEN. I’d be sitting at 50% or better as a UAL 737 CA vs 96% as a SWA CA because of displacements.
You never know how it’ll go. Your career path also proves it. After I moved to DEN I quit updating the apps at Delta and American because I’m not built to commute and like where I’m at. Had UAL called first, I’d be wearing a hat and flying into ORD. 😂

Wasn’t my only reason but it was a plus when coming here. Same with never going to ORD or IAH again. Least IAH closed (for now) and ORD doesn’t have enough frequency to matter much.

You see the goalie goal during the second rookie Ducks/Kings game? Ouch. I don't know anything about his history but the highlight clip could make him the new poster child for USA Hockey's position that youth players shouldn't specialize to goalie until they learn how to play the game first.
