Great excuse to throw a couple of the newly heavy checked -700's solely to do inter island work. Keep the MAX's duty limited to the mainland-HI legs.

which is exactly why one of the big three should make the first move and bring the regional to the mainline and eliminate scope and they could profit from getting a plane In between the RJ 9 and the smallest mainline plane 🤷♂️. Sure makes sense .

USAir flew the Bac 1-11, Fokker 28, Fokker 100, DC9-30, 737-200, BAe146 - all of which were replaced by RJs
American had the Fokker 100 and the Bac 1-11
Delta had the DC9, 737-200
Northwest had the DC9
Continental had the 737-200
These were all sub-100 passenger airplanes whose lift was eventually outsourced to contract feeders flying CRJs, ERJs, and E170/190 variants. All of those good mainline jobs with mainline pay, retirement, and benefits were lost.
putting the toothpaste back in the tube would be amazing. Let's hope that it eventually happens.
This is why scope language is SO important and should never be sold at any price.
