Heck, we would need to train our ground crews on completely new machines, loading techniques, and software; establish larger cargo and food and beverage contracts; work our pilot and fa contracts to accept them; change our gates; and on and on and on.

Flying them is easy; making them profitable and successful is another animal altogether.
I hear what youre saying, but who says SW hasn't been doing all of this already in preparation?
I wouldn't think they'd announce WB and then say "ok, lets get started ".
allegiant got the 757 up and running in 1 yr.
I'd hope SW would through some resources at it if they wanted to get it done.
As for procedures etc... I have no hope. If anything slows them down or fails all together it will be that department.
The level of BS that comes out of there is mind blowing.

Fair point but I would think if they were that far along we would have heard about it somewhere, but stranger things have happened. It’s fun to think about all the possibilities for sure.

This place is changing. You can t stay relevant in 2026 by only flying to LBB. At least they got that.

They got a few rallies scheduled next months. We should know more by then.
You’re correct regarding the XLR. Bases east of the Mississippi could do mainland Europe. Someone suggested Austin to Europe, which isn’t happening. It’s 4200nm to Lisbon (great circle) and direct routing is not available. Winter winds would make it excessive. Western bases, including Austin, can do Hawaii. South of the border ? It could probably go as far as Rio. Near the Copa, Copa Cabana. Which is close to the airport Hyatt Place. Across the street from a gas station. Where the twenty dollar bill will be spent.

There’s often some truth to many of the rumors and the 787 rumors have been extensive.

As an old guy I will tell you if you have more than 5000TT with the prerequisites and you're not getting interviews or offers, it's not your logbook.

Thanks for that. Hope you are loving it so far.

Anyone else have a recent timeline they can share? Wondering whether the timeline may have accelerated as hiring ramps up, or maybe even slowed as the schoolhouse fills up. TIA.
