That’s fair and to each their own but people need to learn to read the room. If you are non-stop talking and getting one word responses chances are the other guys is over it.

Not saying one is better than the other just that we have what I think are a lot of lonely captains that use this confined space to get all of their social interaction in. I get it, some have great social lives and also like to talk and this all applies to FOs as well.

I just tend to air on the side of being more quiet than more chatty. To each their own.

Every bit of this. Some CA's cant figure out that I dont want to have a 6 hr conversation 3 days in a row. Im chatty day 1, then tone it down. Most are ok. Some seem to take it personally if I dont come down for dinner all the time. Sorry...? (shoulder shrug)

You def won't offend me! I don't understand this need to spend 24/7 together for a 3 day trip. Like I have a spare bed in my room if you want to sleep over too?
I am down to eat dinner one day of a 3 day max. I am buying. We are going offsite. Other than that, see ya when I see ya. I have plenty of fun all by my lonesome. I suspect you can do the same.

Definitely. When the study material comes out that should be everyones clue to be quiet. Or beofre the sun comes up, or if i had to wake up beofre the sun comes up.

Anytime the sun isn’t up whilst riding a van.

Oneearly dark cold morning while riding the van with a known chatterbox cappy, it's dead quiet. Its glorious. It's as if everyone on the van got the 4am memo to not talk about cats or their VJA trip.

Then about 10 minutes into a 20 minute ride the captain blurts out "DONT EVERYONE TALK AT ONCE".

There was absolutely crickets after. It was amazing. We knew the score, Talk about not being able to read a room.

Earbuds in with volume turned up playing music, podcast, or whatever you like fixes van talking problems.
