Nobody who commutes wants to sit rsv. Nobody who lives there who doesn’t already bid rsv wants to pick up rsv off commuters. Best bet is to bid to fly and keep hotel costs down….no idea what the BWI crashpad scene is like. I know MDW has em.

BWI crashpad is easy. Several to choose from walking distance from train station.
when you get online ask around. There is one guy who owns several.

yes it closed last week. I heard they were planning to hire 600 and raised it to 1,000 for the year. Should be fun. Sounds like you are getting a talented pool of candidates.

Saw they raised the number to 1000. They said this window was just for those who could show up to class in the next 90 days. So assume there will be another for the Fall, but no idea when.

All subject to Max 7, oil prices, etc….

Anyone able to shed any light on junior reserve life? Ability to pref bid open trips? Any ability to pick up open flying on days off or as a junior guy, it wont happen? Just trying to get a feel for how QOL would be if things slow down and super junior for awhile.

There's a great app to help you study for your type oral. iB737, works great on a tablet. (Blue icon of a 737 in Boeing colors). Idea isn't to be a system genius, it's to be able to explain in one sentence what a switch or light does or means. (Don't get 737 Cockpit Companion, it'll lead you down a bunch of time wasting rabbit holes)

Depends if you live in base or commute. If you bc commute…odds you want to pick up anything on your days off are prob pretty low.

Living on base, rsv is great. They punted rsv proffering til “maybe April” due to IT ineptness but eventually you’ll be able to bid on which trips you’d rather fly as a rsv…if you care. If you’re legal, you can pick up whatever you want on your days off. Artificial buffers make it hard to pick up anything more than a couple day trips or 2 day prior to any rsv block being flown. Once your block is known from working trips….or not working trips…you’ll be able to pick up more…and anything picked up goes on top of rsv guarantee.

I’ve been super jr and on rsv for 3 years and credit in the 150-170/mo living in base. Now that I’m forced to commute, I’m not bidding rsv and my credit is lower as my desire to work more is way lower.

put your reserve in TTGA. You will be able to trade for a trip usually. Also a trick of the trade is give away your reserve block after you get a trip and keep the trip( post you are willing to do so ) . . That way you are not further down on the list of the want to fly group next week. Last but not least you can always give away the last day, if the reserve block works out that way , you will have many takers
