I do agree that there is a "perception" of arrogance which is sustained by a few knuckleheads via internet forums. I have heard the same thing said of DAL Pilots by DCI Pilots, "DAL Pilots won't even look at you in the terminal." I usually try to smile and say hello to all Pilots and have found a lot of commuter pilots don't even notice.

Who's emotional? I didn't think that it was a great deal. Negotiations are done.

Negotiating in bad faith is not exercising the golden rule.

You really need to educate yourself on the Process Agreement.

Negotiations aren't done. The mediation window is open until September 30th.

Unless, of course, you are saying that SWAPA is done negotiating in good faith and wants to immediately proceed to arbitration.

Personally, I would prefer a negotiated agreement.

Mediation is mandatory between SWAPA and ALPA. You won't see SWAPA putting forward the same plan that GK drew up. That offer is gone. I'd prefer negotiated as well, I'm saying that the odds of something more favorable for either of us in mediation isn't good. Why would SWAPA negotiate anything with AirTran's team when the MEC believes that they can just say no to another AIP and use it as a baseline for future negotiations? That's negotiating in bad faith. If the AIP wasn't good enough for you, there really isn't any point in mediation. You have a certain expectation of what you deserve, I understand that.

It would have done a lot of good for both sides to be able to pass a negotiated agreement. That can't happen if the negotiations are a fraud.

I'm having trouble understanding the staple thing. Only 50 pilots AT were at the bottom with 200+ SWA guys then the 650 "stapled" AT pilots. I was informed before they don't count. So if you take the "stapled" that count as the bottom, then they have 4 years, the last SWA pilot above them was a 2008 new hire. So it was not worth the benefits for a 4 year AT guy to be behind a 3 year SWA guy? Apparently so but I don't see the big "staple"

AirTran September 2005 hire stapled below Southwest September 2008 hire. Every AirTran pilot hired after that was basically stapled. Basically = the recent AirTran new-hires (late 2010 to 2011).

All about expectations. Who benefits from this going really badly?
