Weather is fantastic year round, except Jan-Feb where it can rain for a while. Snow? Unheard of. Temps never drop below 40dF, and almost never go above 90dF. You've got great hiking, biking, surfing (OK it's pretty cold to surf, but people do), plus the wine country, the California coast and beaches, fantastic restaurants, and a laid-back lifestyle. As a New York native, I can tell you I'm never, ever moving back East.
Now if only I could get a couple thousand hours of turbine time and a 73 type, I'd be the happiest SWA FO ever...

OAK and LAS are definitely your best choices.
I really like Las Vegas. There's always something fun to do. It has the best food and entertainment in the country, tons of outdoor activities, the weather is great, cost of living is cheap, people always come to visit you, you can fly nonstop to anywhere in the country. You're very close to LA, SD, Phoenix.
The Bay Area is a great place to live too. It's beautiful. You're near the ocean. Tons of outdoor activities. Great culture. Mild weather. Only draw back is cost of living.

I'm glad to see OAK get it's props. I moved here from SAN 5 years ago and absolutely love it. The "East Bay" is amazing; mild temps with fantastic hiking and outdoor activities of all kinds with probably some of the best biking around. The 6000+ acre Briones Park is in your backyard - Briones Regional Park .30 minutes to downtown SF. 45 minutes brings in Tiburon, Muir Woods Muir Woods National Monument (U.S. National Park Service) and Napa. 60 minutes gets you Stinson Beach, the amazing Pt Reyes National Park http://www.nps.gov/PORE/planyourvisit/index.htm and Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay. 90 and you're in Monterey/Carmel/Big Sur - and we haven't even headed east to the Sierras for skiing yet
Buying a house is hard - as a single person DEFINITELY check out rentals on Alameda Island, just 15 minutes from OAK and very cool. Welcome aboard

Another vote for OAK..
And the best part, even though the Bay Area is next to the ocean, it is NOT humid like the east coast...
I have been here 15yrs & still have not been able to explore even 25% of Nor Cal... Then there is Central CA coast & of course the So Cal.
Everyone talks abt the cost of living. The only thing expensive in Bay Area is the price of homes in a 10 rating school district. The apartments/condos are similarly priced or may be a tad bit more as compared to other parts of the country worth living but still reasonable. Other than that, price of everything else is pretty comparable with the rest of the country....
You will love the weather & there are enough fun women to keep you occupied as much as you can...

If you want to have fun on SW overnights, fly PMs from a west coast base. AMs are all old folks who "slam-click" (ie. go to their rooms and don't come out). You make all the happy hours--but only have blue hairs to talk to. East coast PM crews are usually worn out by the time the PM crews start rocking. If my wife left me, I'd bid PHX, reread the book "Predatory Female", and then hit targets galore.

Thanks everyone for your input. I will take it under advisement! That dude in BMI broke his back I believe. I learned from his mistake. Hence the air mattresses and not the couch! Although I bounced five feet into the air and onto the hard floor

He did break his back, but insisted that the hotel not call 911 because he didn't want to get in trouble with the Company.
