Best base for fun?!
#1
I am a transitioning AirTran pilot. I am single, no kids, no mortgage, and no commitments of any kind. When I cross over I will look at it as an opportunity to explore another part of the country (ATL based now). So, which base has the funnest crews and good things to do in and around that base when off? (I am very active and enjoy just about anything outdoors) I know enough about Vegas, so that is a no go for me as I look at it as a manufactured experience that's fun for about 2 days. Thanks for the input.

Of course you have to factor AM vs. PM.
For great times in a base, I would not discount Vegas if you are an outdoorsman. Lots of great hiking near the city, also, Lake Mead, Zion National Park and Moab very close. Of course it all depends what you are looking for. Oakland and all of Northern California are full of outdoor activities. Of course Baltimore has the Capital and all that DC offers in the area of history, museums etc.
Good luck and have fun. Welcome aboard.

I would like to congratulate you and your parents on whatever life choices you made to get to this point. I have nothing else to contribute to this thread. Carry on.

ARUBA!!! CUN and PUJ can be fun as they have all inclusive options.
With free everything and 3-4 crews over-nighting fun can be had.
I was watch a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader photo shoot in CUN on Sunday from the beach / pool-side bar. There were also British (Thompson Airlines FA) added to the mix. As a married guy (happily) I was contented to enjoy the scenery but as a single guy / gal have fun fun fun
