The codeshare giveaways alone, presented in the best negotiating environment in recent history equates to an easy no, but the rest of the concessions easily seals the deal.

More or less. The PS trade was very murky because it gave the company a new PS formula that backed out management's stock and bonus pay (with NO CAP) prior to calculating the pot. It was impossible to determine how it would be implemented.

There were also many other concessions, including scope and sick leave...and laughably inadequate perdiem, DC, and vacation improvements.

It sure seems like management teams are getting together to bend us over.

Maybe SWAPA and DALPA should conduct a summit, to compare notes and lessons learned.

The airlines collaborate on various items where there is common ground. I wish the unions would do the same.

Just finished a three-day. Talked to lots of SW pilots on my trip. So far nobody, and I mean nobody, is saying YES.

I am NO as well. But in the privacy of a dark home office, or late night hotel room, I am not convinced so many will be so bold to say NO when entering their vote on their computer after October 4th.

Personally, I think Gary and all his Wall Street cronies want Section 1 so badly they will actually be willing to offer more total compensation for it. Rumor has it that the Crystal Palace in Dallas is already planning the implementation of Code Share for early 2016. They would not be doing this if it were not going to be tremendously profitable for them.

That being said, I will still be a NO even for more money as long as scope is included in the deal.

Here is one idea for Gary - go and buy Hawaiian. Then grow our international business organically. They have the planes, and the approvals to fly true international. MAN UP!!! Your pilots are ready and willing to take the Spirit of Southwest Airlines anywhere in the world, how about YOU??

We had a WN jumpseater today, he sounded like a yes. The codeshare only allows for a few hundred pax per day as he explained.

While all of the stuff mentioned is enough to vote no, no one's even mentioned the Subsets in this thread. The sub cola gains made in compensation will be more than offset by the reduced productivity caused by them. Not to mention flexibility, which means much reduced QOL.

Section 1 and the Subsets are all you need to vote no on this turd.

There are those out there who, unfortunately, will trust the company to do the right thing and not even look beyond the pay rates and the bonus calculator.
The devil is in the details. SWA is allowed to exceed the PDEW (pax daily each way) for 12 months prior to being in violation. They then have another 12 months to either reduce the PDEW, start flying it in our metal, or stop selling tickets. After that? Nothing.
So, theoretically, if I wanted to skirt the (weak) language, I would start selling tickets like gangbusters and 24 months later throttle back below the PDEW for a few months. Rinse and repeat in multiple destinations and for years to come. Lots of other "meet and confer" and "intent" language as well.
This TA is so harmful to my career as a super junior FO, I can't imagine anyone with more than 10 years left here voting for it.
On another note, look around your lounge and the ties that are being worn. I know in the HOU lounge, there are multiple (50 percent or more) airplane and flag ties, and it has been this way since the "black tie" campaign started. Those individuals are the ones we need to reach out to and educate on the harm that this TA could bring to our futures. Don't exclude, mock, or belittle them, but try to ask them questions on what they think about the TA and how it is going to play out for years to come. We need to win the hearts and minds of those guys in order to crush this thing with an overwhelming vote.
