Sell the kids!

I interviewed a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting to find out from them if hired. Of the 6 of us in my group who interviewed only two had the type, so people without it are getting calls too. Of those 6, 4 have received word of doing the drug test, background test while we are waiting on the decision board. The two with the type are a part of that 4 though and I was asked about it during the interview. I don't know the answer but just providing some recent details.

Thanks. Still debating it.

Given the current hiring environment and your vaporized VA benefits, absolutely not. Especially when the 737 type means even less to other carriers than its probable minor attraction at WN. You are applying elsewhere, right?

The boat will bring way more pleasure than anything to do with a 737 cockpit, aside from the paycheck that flows out of it. You'll have better climate control, a better view, and no headset required! And you'll need somewhere to spend all that time off. On probation, do a lot of floating and beaching. Year two, let the fuel flow.

An all seriousness, the type is a questionable investment unless you are rolling in excess cash. Good luck.

At WAI, the recruiters said it no longer is required and doesn't really help to get one.

Interesting. You have any other special feathers in your cap besides the type? Check Airman? Masters in Aerospace Engineering? Brother-in-Law on the hiring board?

Good to hear a civilian with your times was called - Congrats.

BS Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics from The University Of Texas at Austin. I doubt that specific degree had anything to do with getting a chance to interview.

Nothing else.
