I'll admit that this made me chuckle.

Perhaps things may be be different in DAL than LAS and I'll preface this by saying that If I have the 25th OFF and am ready for ELITT opening, I have no problem turning a month of crappy weekend Fri-Sun lines into all three day partial weekend lines that at worst case start late SUN or end Early SAT and often weekday pairings totaling around 110 tfp, 16+ days off within an hour of ELITT opening in base. I actually monthly bid with this in mind and I'm a couple months junior to you but fairly even given our respective bases.

Is it a perfect system? Far from it.

Yeah I just got into blank line territory last month and my first two months with a blank line I have been able to ELITT out of all weekend flying except for one weekend. Like you said the key is having the 25th off or at least knowing you'll be in the hotel when ELITT opens on the 25th.
