SWA or DAL?

Well for one thing I credited 137 trips this month and only spent 8 nights in a hotel. Not only do I live near a Southwest base (MCO), but I live right next to an airport (TPA) that I can pickup a ton of open time that has me home in time for dinner. For me it ultimately came down to the fact I don't want to commute, I want maximum time at home, and there is a ton of earning potential for day trips out of Tampa that has me home every night. I know I'm taking a substantial loss in pay and retirement, but the gains in quality of life seem worth it to me. I'll let you know if I still feel that way in 33 years though. 👍🏻

Thanks man! I'm more proud of the 8 nights in a hotel as a commuter than the tfp's. I can hold MCO right now, but don't want to be back on weekend reserve so I'm commuting to hold a blank line. Really looking forward to holding a line in MCO though!

You know I really think MCO will only get better in terms of seniority especially if and when FLL opens as a base. Just think how senior DAL and HOU used to be and how junior they are today. Right now MCO is very senior due to the flood of AirTran guys, but what was supposed to take 2 years to hold MCO only took me 5 months. I think it should only get better from here especially with most of our growth happening to the south.

I think not going to the delta interview because you don't want to pay 300 or even 800$ for interview prep/gouge is shortsighted.
you'll make that back in 1 month of your delta company sponsored 401k. Waiting to make captain at 15 at SWA will cost you a lot more than 300$.
We all have our reasons for picking the airline we want, but don't put a bullet in your career over 300$.
