Hey, whatever, as long as it's a pilot uniform and we all comply. If the leather is the only option we all have to wear it whether we like it or not. Same with the trench coat. No one sees delta pilots wearing whatever they want and I'm sure plenty of them dislike the uniform. It's simple though. It's a uniform, wear it
The fact we can wear a blazer/trench or a leather is great. But still see other jackets and my new favorite, the leather with no bars, wings or anything.

It's sad the company doesn't provide uniforms for the new guys.
That's said, I just flew with a guy eligible for the leather jacket yet he wore his own that looked nothing like the uniform. I said why not get a free jacket. He said "but I have a leather jacket". He also sported black sneakers and pants that had white thighs and knees and probably hadn't been cleaned in months

Rory is out flying Bandits for Royal Air Freight if he doesn't answer his email. I think he may still have an address so it's possible he answers though.

If you've been here 3 years just see your base coordinator and they will take care of it. If you've been here less time than that they will deduct $25/paycheck to pay for it and on your third anniversary they will reimburse you for $360 (the base model) when you fill out an expense report.

3. The Company will provide uniform replacements from the vendor for eight shirts, two pants, and two ties every 18 months due to normal
wear and tear. Additionally, the Company will provide one blazer and one hat replacement when a pilot upgrades and once every 36 months due to normal wear and tear. In lieu of the uniform blazer, a pilot may choose a leather jacket from Perrone Leather Apparel Inc. or a jacket of equivalent quality designated by the Company. The Company will not provide leather jackets based upon an upgrade in position. The Company will provide a replacement for the leather jacket every 72 months. The company will provide the base style leather jacket, that is, no upgrades for leather type or linings, etc. Any cost above the cost of the base style shall be paid through payroll deductions. Pilots who have purchased the Perrone or equivalent leather jacket prior to reimbursement eligibility may submit an expense report (with receipt) at the pilot’s next 36-month anniversary. The pilot will be reimbursed at the cost of the base style leather jacket. The replacement date for another leather jacket will be 72 months from the date the pilot purchased the jacket (as indicated on the receipt).

Yup
36 months-free blazer or reimbursement for leather jacket purchased (up to base price)
Upgrade-free blazer
6 years-Free leather jacket.
Since upgrade is at 3 years about, you could either get 2 blazers at 36 months (one at 3 years and 1 for upgrade) or one blazer for upgrade and reimbursement for your leather. Seems the leather jacket makes more sense, unless you want 2 blazers.
