As far as the room being hot...watch the video and you'll go far in life

It will disable the motion detector on the AC and allow you to drop the cool down to 60 degrees

Fantastic info, I appreciate it!

My usual MO if I'm woken during my rest is to roll over and say, "OK google, call Crew Scheduling, provide my employee number, and say 'fatigue', goodbye." Works great, lasts a long time.

I always ask for a room on one of the 3 sides that doesn't face the road/parking garage. Once I was actually told "oh yeah, we're not supposed to put you there." Usually I'm told to pound sand.

As for ORD hotel... careful what you wish for. I've had downtown overnights in Chicago. You think IAH is bad? Try 90 during rush hour.

So help me if a small minority gets us moved downtown in ord. The rosemont hotel is nice, has a reliable van, many food options and the train is close.

The queens hotel absolutely sucked for long periods of time with no food anywhere. I agree with that move. However the company countered so now there are only 2-4 long NYC overnights and they are not long. 14hrs about with hour long nausea inducing rides both directions. Am I the only one that gets car sick as a passenger in stop and go traffic.

I will have some serious words for anyone wanting a downtown ord hotel.

The Vegas hotel sucks. Not so much because the hotel is bad per say but we are in the middle of the hotel capital of the world and the Hampton Inn is the best they could do? Put us at the MGM Signature. Delta stays there...

Absolutely nothing wrong with the ORD hotel! Great place, easy to get downtown, and you get a warm cookie.

Question from an outsider, what is long verses short at Spirit? I kinda thought you always stayed at airport vicinity hotels (I know frontier generally does). Out of curiosity, do your FAs get the same? At Xjet, we have a downtown hotel rule for overnights greater than 15 hours, although for some reason it's not honored in every city.

13hrs 45 min overnight (15hrs block in to out). Our hotels are usually pretty nice with some exceptions like vegas. We don't stay with the flight attendants in most places because their hotel language is weak so they stay in dumps. Frontier stays in dumps because they have weak language and the spawn of indigo is exploiting it.

"Hotel facilities shall generally be located at or near the airport. However, any layover scheduled for 15 hours or more block-in to block-out shall be located in a metropolitan area served by that airport or in an alternate location in a mutually agreed upon comparable hotel."

That's the language in the CBA. Most of our long layover hotels are located downtown although there are some exceptions. ORD (Rosemont) and IAH (the Galleria) are two examples that come to mind. Although not located downtown technically, they are nice hotels in good locations that have been signed off on by the hotel committee.
