Agreed.
The max out of pocket on our medical plans is about $7500 for a family. If you are on the HRA plan the company kicked in $3000 assuming you rolled over no money from the previous year so you are only on the hook for $4500. That's a catastrophic year, as bad as it can get. Of those bills you are responsible you can successfully negotiate those down in most cases by talking to the biller. I would wager that you could bring that $4500 down to about $3000. That's less than a six month FA got in signing bonus and we aren't even in the same universe as to what we are negotiating for (rightfully so). $3000 as bad as it gets. Don't give me this medical bills excuse. It's weak. Now if you are coming back from Short or long term disability I can see how you may have encountered some real hardship from lack of income and maybe I can give a pass for choking on gravy within the bounds of the contract which there are many ways. Don't really see a reason to be violating the contract though |

I am all for standing together and singing kumbaya but this is taking to too far. Posting peoples names on a public forum is unethical and discriminatory. YOU have no idea the life circumstances of ANY of these individuals! Each person has the right to choose how they lead their lives and in NO WAY do we have the right to judge them for it. If someone wants to use their 5 JRMs or take all the phone calls, releases or MUP they are offered that is their choice.
You think this helps us get closer to a contract? By tearing ourselves apart? Management loves this stuff, keeps us fighting between ourselves. At the last pub event I attending two pilots almost came to blows. Ridiculous! How can we expect to be paid and treated like professionals when we act like children not getting what they want? Go cry to yo momma!! It's time for this and I love it!! How about the sacrifices I am making by passing on JA's?? it's the only way. When planes stop moving we will get a deal. |

Thanks for the lack of professionalism. For being a 19 year ALPA member, LEC representive, 7 year Safety Chairman, etc. it would have been nice to be told if I was doing something wrong. I dropped two Reserve days in April and wanted to get those two days back. I made myself available on those two days. I removed myself after being told that I can't do that. I hope if anyone else on this list doesn't know that they would be called or sent a message. It's pretty low to call someone out without knowing the real intentions. I came from an airline that was ALPA and didn't have a contract that was remotely close to ours. I think a lot of us are still learning the ins and outs of it.
My name has been corrected and is not on that list. For being an ALPA member for 19 years, you should be more in tune with what's going on where you work. This is coming from a 18 year ALPA member. Get a clue everyone. |

Good for you. I am also flying my line and passing on all JAs but that does not make it right to post people's names on a public forum.

You have got to be kidding me? If alpa cared about it like most of us do than there would not be a need to post their names on here. It's time to take matters into our own hands. |

And people wonder why unions are hated.
1) Disclosing personal information is a violation of Internet Brands Terms of Use. Last names along with base and seat might be construed as personal information. 2) Publishing lists of people you're upset with might be considered creating a hostile workplace. I'm guessing the airline has a policy against it. I'm also guessing that the airline could obtain a court order for APC to reveal the identity of the original poster, WhateverItTakes, and fire him or her. Is this really worth becoming a hostage? 3) A more effective way to stop the undesired behavior is to contact the offenders directly in a diplomatic tone and with an educational message. "Hey, did you know what you're doing is a contract violation? Sure, The Company will gladly let you violate the contract if it benefits them, but it doesn't help US." You might be surprised by the responses. 4) The worst thing that can happen to a union during contract negotiations is to be crippled by injunctions that are the result of well-meaning but ill-conceived actions of one or two zealots. Be smart. Ask the moderators to remove the list of names. . |
