Not picking up open time, has nothing to do with a work action!
The vast majority of Spirit pilots are not willing to work for these substandard rates.
That's all!
Some make more money at home, compared to the amount of time spent commuting, waiting at the airport and for hotel vans.

Management trying to throw it back at the pilot group, is another attempt to vilify, while not taking any responsibility.

We are just fed up with the treatment and pay and do not feel like working overtime, nothing illegal or wrong with that.

What was their full year profit in 2016?

Agree with you however they will probably pursue legal action and arguably have grounds to when looking at performance before and after.

IMO that will just further inflame the relationship between us and them ultimately exacerbating the situation for themselves. Could be a short term win for them but a long term catastrophic failure.

This. I don't think we will hear from the company about this. They don't want to admit this is hurting them. If they show weakness it will just make the pilots bring more pressure. It's not even summer yet folks. :-) I've got my popcorn ready.

Your wrong. It's been proven over and over in court.

Aaaand we've received nothing like that from the union. Actually, the email today was the opposite. So not answering your phone on your days off because you want to enjoy your days off is totally different in this case.

You're wrong. Those issues were originally sanctioned by USAPA. Nothing of the sort is happening here. There is no safety slowdown or anything of the sort.

Pilots can not be forced to work on days off. If management is having trouble covering flights, guess the they should hire/ upgrade more pilots.

Why would anyone want to work more than required for 50% of industry standard pay? My time at home with my family, is far more valuable than 50% of industry standard compensation.

Thanks for posting that. I read it to understand that our union is doing everything right down to the letter. Very different situation than ours for sure.
