You guys get so upset!
There will be no industry standard contract. Ever. We aren't industry standard. We are ultra low cost standard. There's 3 of us. Spirit. Frontier. Allegiant. I knew this coming here. Management will NEVER respect us. Our work. our profession. And will NEVER pay us. Allegiant pay is what this place will offer without a strike. Planes will keep flying and they'll keep making record money. We all know Spirit is the cheapest penny-pinching airline ever. Come here because it's better than a regional (it's not really anymore) and move on to a real airline that will pay what we deserve. Simple as that. I knew this coming in. It's just a stepping stone which is exactly what management wants (they even call it juniority to keep costs low) I'm not even frustrated or upset being here anymore. I have zero expectations and none of us should. If you're "stuck here" or "too old" to go to any better airline. Then suck it up and quit complaining. It's not the "Spirit model" to be industy standard. Nothing about spirit is standard. It's all LOW TIER and way BELOW average. It will forever be a discount airline and as long as you work here, You/we are discount pilots. And yes I deserve/expect more. I'm fighting for it by trying like he^ll to get outta here reality is a b*tch! |

Sorry but our CEO is not paid like a discount CEO, our fuel is not discounted, our permit to fly into Mexico isnt discounted, nor is our A/C. Unfortunately for management, Pilots can no longer be discounted either, not in this environment. We can all continue to apply elsehwere but bringing up the pay here will bring up the pay elsewhere. |

Go Jet flow! Great news!! Are we going there or are they coming to Spirit?? The discount pilot lanyard is a embarrassing for those who wear it!! It's called a Freudian Slip. For those that didn't take psychology in college, it's a slip of what you really think. In fact most think they are "discount pilots". Just what the guy above posted.

There's nothing to see. They offered raises to keep us in the bottom tier. That's enough details for me. I don't want to see anything that's not ratifiable and ratifiable is industry standard. We've asked for that and that's what's being negotiated. Management is proposing ultra low cost pilot. If that's what you want I think Allegiant and Frontier are hiring.
Allegiant got raises and retirement to place them right back at the bottom of this round of bargaining which is probably the best negotiating climate in most all of our careers. You either get it now or get it never. They cemented themselves at the bottom. That's not going to change in the next cycle. They start doing multi-day trips and that place is going to empty out. Frontier is in a bankruptcy contract and they will have to go on strike to get a dime from Franke. We are not these airlines and if this is going to be a career destination we need to negotiate a career contract and that's what the negotiating comittee is asking for. If we want a stepping stone contract we need to go work at a stepping stone. Most of us want to make this a career. Btw we could have an industry leading contract and still crush the legacies in profit margins. |

Qotsa......Qotsa.......Qotsa. You got guys clearing $325-350k easily at Allegiant and you still want to rag on them? Jealous, much? (Btw...DOS+1 is next month so the money train choo-choo left you at the station awhile back)
I don't want a contract where you have to start ever month trying to figure out how to work the system and sit by my phone to make what an industry standard pilot makes by just bidding a line. And if you think a 5+5 retirement will get anywhere near a 16% defined contribution at age 65 you need to go take an intro to finance class. Or just pick up the contract comparison the united NC put out about 6 months ago because they are already gearing up to raise the bar again. |
