- Dropped? With PBS zero, simply because it will not let you fly, bid, or swap for anything illegal or whichever parameters PBS is set too. What PBS will do is this.. let saay you’ve been flying 90 hour lines for 10 months, you’re at 900 hours of block, PBS will now consider the fact you can only fly 100 block hours over the next 2 month. It will now limit you to 50 hours per month. If you have monthly guarantee that’s great, you’ll get your guarantee if you don’t, well guess what? 50 hours of pay. How about vacation?? Oh your vacation starts on Fri? Good we can legally fly you till 23:59 on Thursday.. End on Wends? Great 5AM report on Thursday. Personally I care more about dropping, and I could be the only one, but I have been averaging 500hr/yr for the last two decades so I’m not really worried about getting affected by only being able to fly 50 hours a month, but what major airline in the US does not have guarantee? Also it is really easy to setup PBS to first build a line according to preference and only thereafter applying vacation time. You want a lot of credit? Bid to work away from vacation days. Want more time off? Bid to work vacation days. Off course getting the company to do it this way is hard but PBS itself has nothing to do with it. I’m not a fan of PBS, but let’s keep it real. |

Everything you said it's wrong. 1000 hrs in 12 months? with PBS it's hard to make it happen unless you like BDSM and you build your self pure hell. most line out of PBS are 75/85 Vacation: You start vacation on friday? well bid for Thursday and Wednesday off and there you have you vacation plus 2 extra days; and guess what? you can do the same at the end of vacation. You can even decide to bid for the last 5 days of the month off and the first 5 days of the following month off... guess what? an other 10 days vacation? I used PBS twice: with a ****ty language, with a less ****ty language but still ****ty. both time it was a great experience. you decide the exact days you want off, you make your own vacations, you extend your PTO by adding days off. and you CAN drop trip. I was able to drop trip at my regional while being understaff. |

All I know guys, is that this is the best negotiating environment in close to 20 years. If you’re not going to at least get industry standard now, you never will.
They can’t get away with dragging on the contract this long, it must be full retro. Spirit is one of the most profitable airlines, there’s no reason for not getting industry standard rates and retirement at DOS, they can certainly afford it. It only cost them an additional $.30 per CASM based on ALPA numbers. Once AA, Jetblue, DAL, get their new contracts, you’ll be even further behind. PBS is a non-starter, it cost JOBS!! Do you know what it’s like to be a class away from being furloughed. Remember all your union brothers and sisters that walked the picket line with you. This will only lower the bar for everyone. Don’t let union buster Ford Harrison staffers like Qotsaautopilot manage your expectations. I love it!! PBS costs jobs and one class away from being furloughed , meaning you want more jobs and more folks behind you in case the furlough comes down, then the very next sentence you talk about union brothers and sisters... you're as loyal as Judas |

Have you asked the NC about the affect of the tax legislation and us getting a piece of that pie? I heard it was addressed on a conference call that I missed but they will give you their opinion if you call or email them.

vacations with pbs at my REPugnant regional were pre-awarded 7 days, you finished a trip the day before vaycay started and had a trip the day after it ended, there was no extending it by bidding around it. it simply didnt work that way. most months I had vacation I would end up on reserve because it couldnt build be enough credit with our low time trips to reach the target credit. just my personal experience of 6 years of pbs garbage

A win is a win even if it’s not a perfect game. If the scope language doesn’t pan out then we have to go extra innings. |

He’s trying to paraphrase me to label me as a hypocrite. I did say some of those words. I’ve always maintained Scope, LTD, pay, retirement as my top priorities in that order. If the language for scope pans out I’d say we got 85% of my priorities so he thinks I’m a hypocrite because I’m ainti PBS. I still am anti PBS for the record but we aren’t getting a contract without it and the majority of the group is willing to go that route. Scope and LTD are more important than me being anti PBS. The reason I’ve alsways been anti pbs is because it is a staffing reduction. That hasn’t changed.

Those are a non-event. No drama at all.

I'm curious, which mainline or LCC has language like Spirit with 4days off required to be built into every award?
I'm pretty sure none. So, tell me again how PBS is going to zap open time and cause the QOL to disappear? BTW, what do you blowhards think the monetary value of that 4 days/off language is? In other words, how much per/hr is factored into the pay rates that have been agreed to? |
