Yeah that’s a good point. Does anyone know if they have an available date on the app?

I’m not sure. But when I was hired I delayed my class date for 3 months due to prior obligations. For your situation theirs just no way they won’t accomadate you if you get hired.

Why not just tell that to the interviewers? They’re extremely understanding and I’m sure would be happy to work with you on a start date.

Actually no. A buddy interviewed last year and had some personal stuff going on, needed to push class dates a bit and tried to be forthcoming about it. Ultimately didn’t get the offer and I believe this was a factor.

How long does it take them to approve you in CASS as a new hire?

Most were approved in cass about halfway through training. If you were assigned a previous class and pushed it back one you will probably be approved in the first week.

I didn't notice an available date on the app when I filled it out, but that may have changed. When I interviewed, they asked if I had any questions. I mentioned that if they were to extend me a job offer, I would greatly appreciate if they were able to give me a class date a few months in the future for personal reasons. They were happy that I mentioned that, and even happier to accommodate me. They said that the only restriction was that the class they offered couldn't be more than 6 months after your interview.

That's pretty awesome, I didn't mean to come off the way I did but it's really great that you're in a good spot already because you can't lose either way. If you want to work at Spirit, I hope they give you what you ask for so you can be around for your very important life event.

I don't see how that's possible, once you get a call with an offer, at the end of the call, you discuss when you can start. I was asked if I had any obligations to take of. I told her I will need a month before I start class. This your friend get an offer first? or did he tell them during the interview?

Any guesstimate for getting ORD based?

Skypilotsv1984 01-21-2018 02:53 PM

I delayed for two months due to prior commitments. I was up front about it in the interview as I didn't expect to get the call that quick. You can delay up to six months, just be up front about it.
