Stay where you are, it sucks but I wouldn't risk it. Even with 67 coming I wouldn't come. If you knew for sure you'd get in the left seat in 3 years I'd say bail out and come. Odds are this place will be purchased and merged in... IMHO If you do come over you'll have a good time. In general the folks are good.

I would agree with all of this.. First off, Spirit is really not a punitive type of company. Actually getting terminated is extremely rare and only after many many issues. I find Spirit is fair, show up and do your job, don't stick your neck out and put a target on your back, and you'll be fine. If you did hear from the chief pilot it would more than likely be a fact finding mission, and if you don't have a history thats more than likely the end of it. I got caught in a massive traffic jam about a year ago, called scheduling and told them what the deal was, they just said keep going to airport and get there when I can, and they were polite and understanding. There was nothing I could do. I even took photos of the traffic jam, and screen shots of google maps traffic. I had zero issues. Sheet happens and they are people too, they understand. Just keep a clean record and you'll have no issues

67? Good grief!. Where do you get that from? I think you’ll see single pilot ops with augmented technology to let the despatcher land the plane from his desk in operations if the pilot becomes incapacitated before 67 happens. Then again, I’ve been blindsided many times by industry events.

Politicians and airline management are very predictable creatures. They will always kick the can down the road and go for the quick fix when it is availed to them.
