I got caught in a massive traffic jam about a year ago, called scheduling and told them what the deal was, they just said keep going to airport and get there when I can, and they were polite and understanding. There was nothing I could do. I even took photos of the traffic jam, and screen shots of google maps traffic. I had zero issues. Sheet happens and they are people too, they understand. Just keep a clean record and you'll have no issues
