Merger/acquisition

NK is going to be the third largest carrier at ORD....who are we buying?? Even with our current AC orders, it doesn’t add up.

Hmmmmmmmmm..........

This would explain why frontier didn’t add more gates/real state with the new ORD terminal...and we doubled.

I believe NK has been number 3 in ORD for a number of years. Is there a new article or announcement out?

No offense, seriously, but NK couldn’t afford to buy F9 for what Indigo THINKS it’s worth. And the move to T5 will double the number of usable gates. Now whether or not they use those gates to add flying remains to be seen.

You're point is valid. What the seller "thinks" it's worth. NK doesn't value F9 the same way Indigo does. Indigo is a "pumper and dumper". They're trying to build a market value so they can sell F9. Trick is finding a buyer. Why pay a premium when we can just purchase aircraft and slowly "cherry pick" markets with very little debt. NK just keeps adding aircraft so we can make sure America gets a sun burn. We fly to Sun and fun with games of chance!

Considering how over-the-top bidding went for Virgin America, I'm sure there will be a couple of airlines that get into a bidding war when F9 is put into play.

That's exactly how I feel about how Bob and Ted are running us.

Jett i son 04-11-2018 12:56 PM

^^^ YES
Bob was "short term" from day one. His "behavior" proved it time and time again. Who announces their retirement a year in advance?...
Ted is just continuing the plan, he is a finance man, which further indicates that they plan to sell or merge.
Which may be better than what we currently have, since our work rules are not above average anymore.

I haven’t heard any good rumors lately....apc is great for that😂

B6 will be our dancing partner. NK buys them.

If the new order ends up being E-Jets, it won't be hard to do the math on that one.

E-jets aren’t happening... company was very unimpressed with Embraer vs. Boeing/Cjets

king10pin02 04-19-2018 01:58 PM

there is no benefit to our pilot group to merge with anyone, dont understand the fascination with nk/f9 merger that is likely never going to happen

Companies don’t merge for the ‘benefit’ of the pilot group .. or the Detriment for that matter ... I’ll
Bet dollars to donuts a F9 marriage is gonna Happen. Regardless of what it does to you on an Individual level , it makes business sense on several levels .. I’m a firm believer a F9 aquasition is imminent .. it makes a lot of sense and would work very well long term

I've also wondered about a larger airline acquiring Spirit for a combination of their pilots/airplanes, extensive Florida network and elimination of a competitor. United has come to mind if they ever decide to acquire another airline and they decide JetBlue is too expensive.

Trans States Holdings is going to close the doors on G7. All gojet pilots will be allowed to flow to Spirit. The money made from selling the CRJ’s will then allow Trans States to purchase Spirit, hence stapling all NK guys to the bottom of the list, Eventually forcing the flow to F9 to staff the new aircraft.

Heard it here first

I don't see any merger within the next 5 years. If the economy takes a dump and fuel prices spike; then there will be a rash of mergers. Until then, business as usual.

Knob123 04-21-2018 03:10 PM

Just to be clear...you don’t see this happening?

Looks as though our FA’s are approved to wear Teal(Frontier Green) on their uniforms. The company has also been introducing this in their advertising. What do you make of it? Teal doesn’t exactly go with Black and Yellow. We may have a marriage coming.

Having just read the latest quarterly SWA Flight Ops update/newsletter, our VP of Flt Ops mentioned you guys specifically (increased competition in our hubs such as BWI, depressing yields, going after our customers, yada yada yada).

This is just like reading the chapters leading up to the AirTran acquisition. They were worried about being able to compete with us and you guys know how that story played out. I just hope they treat you guys better. Try not to laugh too hard when during SLI talks they propose putting all of you (including your most senior Cptn) on probation. I $h!t you not......

With all due respect?! Hahaha! I AM an AirTran guy and completely agree with you. There’s a reason for the term “getting AirTraned”.

No offense taken amigo. Just trying to enlighten you on their thought process should an acquisition be announced.

probably not a bad idea considering some of our guys have outstanding warrants for things like not paying alimony and felony assault.
