Spirit needs to grow 15%ish year over year for the model to keep working as intended. Can’t do that with a finite fleet plan. There will either be a new airplane order, a merger or a merger with someone who has more Airbus slots.

First of all management has a plan. Manufactures are bending over to sell Spirit aircraft. I ran into to Ted 2 weeks ago and he said Boeing is VERY VERY aggressively pursuing us. Buy 2 get one free is the current deal. They want us to swing to all 737. Airbus has already done their song and dance, we have orders now that go to 176 airframes. A200's? is what they are calling the C series now. ERJ190 Super Heavy? Spirit is currently crunching numbers! Stand by for the order. Ted said it's coming. He also clearly pointed out people get fired for getting this one wrong!

I’d be curious to see how Boeing thinks they can squeeze 230 pax into a 737. Max 10 maybe?

I wish Airbus would launch the proposed A322. Basically a stretched A321 NEO.

New wing, motors and undercarriage notwithstanding. Still, it’d probably be a winner.

I'd be happy with an order of 300 of those. With the new wing I would think it would have much improved range.

That would be about the last I would like to see. A321 at max gross:
Tailstrike magnet, Green dot 245kts, max recommended altitude FL320. That thing needs a bigger wing as it is. Also turn times are getting longer and longer with single aisle/narrow door and 230 pax.

Yes, might work if they are planning bigger wing, still don't like the boarding part...

According to the manager of MX in PHL, a new AC order to add a new fleet type in the 319 size is a certainty this year. You know how rumors go.......
