I wonder if they are done until 2021 and beyond. We only wanted 5-6% extra growth per previous investor presentations and they just increased the fleet plan by 10%.

What happened between when this interview happened and the investor call this week?

Obviously the need to serve secondary routes still exists. There are plenty of underserved markets with decent populations not served by Spirit. Clearly Spirit does not rely on regional feed - so, an alternative would be to use efficient 100-120 seat jets to serve those markets (eg Des Moines, Spokane, Tucson, Baton Rouge, Syracuse, Burlington, Grand Rapids, Little Rock, Colorado Springs, Harrisburg, Greenville/Spartanburg, Billings, Fresno, etc.) profitably...

I suspect another poster may be right. Spirit waited too long to grab a large number of bus slots and is stretching out its fleet plan and snagging the odd 320 here and there until they can place a proper order.

The Farnborough Airshow in the UK takes place in June, and the Airbus/Bombardier JV should be finalized by then. Perhaps we’ll hear something then with the typical Airshow dealmaking.... Who knows, if the price is right, maybe a combo Airbus/CSeries deal? You never know...

No thanks. Last time I checked this was an open forum. Quit being a closed-minded, uninformed cyber bully.

They paid under $20m sticker is $80m. It was such a "good deal" Bombardier was sued for dumping.

But it’s a game changer! Delta should have paid $160m easy! Lol I didn’t realize they got that good of deal.

What about a 737 and e190 deal since Boeing and Embraer are in merger talks.

I wonder what will happen with the Virgin/Alaska merger? Will they convert to an all Boeing fleet? What will become of Virgins Airbuses? Will those be Airbuses be ripe for the snagging? Just a thought.
