Not in regards to assigning reserves in the appropriate order. Now if they want to Y list someone that can get there quicker instead of using a reserve that says he needs his three hours they are free to do that.

Also if they call the “next guy” on the reserve list and incentivize him to come in sooner than three hours on his own accord that’s up to him I guess.

But if the guy who is supposed to get the trip says he needs his full 3 hrs, then cannot just call the next guy on the list and assign it to him.

I agree with both comments. I know for a fact that's not what crew scheduling is doing. They don't understand what they agreed to in our new contract.

I think every airline has instances of Crew scheduling either knowingly or unknowingly violating the proper assignment methodology of reserves. That’s also why it’s inportant for anyone on reserve to know who on the list fits for a given trip and if multiple people fit, what order they would be assigned now based on seniority. If one is assigned out of order it’s up to them to politely call scheduling out on it. I have and the mistake was acknowledged and the trip removed from my schedule.

Flica reserve availability isn’t always the easiest to track but if you are uncertain at all after being notified of an assignment, a call back to scheduling and a “hey, can we talk about the assignment methodology of this trip. I’m not sure that I was the next in line. I looks like such and such proabably should’ve gotten the trip”. This tone is non confrontational an allows them to take a fresh look and offer either a valid explanation on why you got the trip or to validate your concerns and remove the assignment.

Matching days and RAP first then if multiple pilots match least seniority gets assigned first as credit no longer has any impact on the assignment with the exception that if the assignment takes a pilot over guarantee scheduling has the option to skip them and go to the next senior pilot.

It also flows the other way. I had an instance when I knew the trip should have been assigned to me and it was given to another pilot. I made the call to scheduling to help me "clarify my understanding of assignment methodology" and the scheduler realized their error and flagged me for pay since it was too late to remove the other pilot and put me on the trip.

Does the company have a commuter clause in the new contract, as in commuter hotels, a commuter policy, and so on?

As far as pay goes is it block or better? Or something like SWA?

Thanks

Commuter policy yes, hotels no.

Block or better is industry bottom to include regionals it’s block or better for the day. Over block a leg by 20 then under block the next by 20 and you get nothing. It’s a real gem
