But it won't be for people getting hired right now.

should I use my magic 8 ball to tell them what it will be for them? Or just tell them what it is now since that’s what they asked for?

I’d guess a newhire would get ATL within 2-3 base bids. First month is normally IOE so most likely the 2nd/3rd month would be your relief line so you can drop your stuff and pick up in another base. So being on reserve in a different base is likely a month, maybe 2 maximum.

They asked what the upgrade is right now, thinking about getting hired. Not a wild jump that they will they use that number as upgrade time for themselves, so adding a "results from the past do not translate into the future" disclaimer is necessary.

"Necessary" GTFO.

It's now the responsibility of the poster to "hold the hands" and to interpret the statement for the reader now? No, no it's not. It's my responsibility to provide them the information they ask for.

People are welcome to use all information they receive to the best of their abilities and make whatever conclusions they want from them. They don't need someone telling them how to think. You should quit and go get a job with the current administration. You'd fit right in.

It would also be nice if these new hires spent as much time working on their radios and basic airmanship, instead of upgrade times. Can’t believe “radio work” is a thing.

I’m not saying you don’t have a legitimate gripe, but move on from this topic already. Regional and corporate flight decks have this same issue. You were there too. We all were. Help ‘em out and move on. For better or worse, It’s the new norm.

And yet, his point is valid. Worry about the basics before you think you should be a Capt in 18 months.
